Who You Are
We are looking for a confident, independent, and effective Deputy Manager for our new Children’s Home in Cardiff. You should have proven experience at a senior level working with young people within a residential childcare environment and hold a relevant qualification that meets the criteria for Social Care Wales registration along with a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People). Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.
What the job involves
As a Deputy Officer in Charge, you will lead, inspire, motivate, and develop the home, the staff, and the wellbeing of the young people we serve. You will assist in the management and administration of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and provision of quality care for children, typically staying up to 12 weeks. Your responsibilities include ensuring sensitive and empowering services for young people, building positive family relationships, fostering community connections, maintaining professional competence of the staff team, managing delegated budgets, and coordinating meetings to promote inclusion and achieve objectives.

- Knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016
- Budget monitoring and management skills
