Who You Are

Your patience, empathy, and caring nature will help ensure that children receive high-quality individual support. You will work within a team to support young people in achieving positive outcomes, build appropriate relationships, and have fun while placing their needs at the forefront of your role. You must be willing to learn, share experiences, and put children at the center of your work.

What the Job Involves

As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will provide direct care and effective support to young people in a residential setting, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their childcare plans. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring a can-do attitude and a commitment to going above and beyond for those in your care. Responsibilities include daily care routines, educational support, promoting self-advocacy, and maintaining health and safety standards. Waking Night Officers will stay alert throughout the night to monitor and respond to young people's needs and perform tasks as required by on-call managers.

  • Flexibility with work schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • Full driving license required
  • Experience with young people desirable
  • IT competence, including electronic care systems
