Who You Are
We are looking for a confident, independent, and effective Deputy Manager for our new Children's Home in Cardiff. You should have proven experience at a senior level of working with young people within a residential childcare environment and a relevant qualification that meets the criteria for Social Care Wales registration in addition to a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People). Excellent communication and organization skills are essential.
What the Job Involves
As a Deputy Officer in Charge, you will assist in managing and administering the home, ensuring high-quality care in line with regulatory standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, inspiring, and developing the home, staff, and wellbeing of young people
- Ensuring young people receive a sensitive service that meets their diverse needs
- Empowering young people to have a voice in life decisions and encourage independence
- Building positive relationships with families and community integration
- Maintaining professional competence of the staff team
- Managing delegated budgets effectively
- Coordinating and chairing meetings to promote inclusion and achievement
Skills
- Knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016
- Budget monitoring and financial management
