Who You Are
We are looking for a confident, independent, and effective Deputy Manager for our Children's Home in Cardiff. You should have proven experience at a senior level working with young people in a residential childcare environment. You possess a relevant qualification meeting Social Care Wales registration criteria, in addition to a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People). Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.
What the job involves
As a Deputy Officer in Charge, you will assist in the management and administration of the home, ensuring it meets all regulatory standards. Your role includes leading, inspiring, and motivating staff while ensuring the wellbeing of the young people in our care. Responsibilities include delivering sensitive and empowering services to young people, building positive family and community relationships, managing delegated budgets effectively, and coordinating meetings that promote inclusion and achievement of objectives.

- Knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016
- Budget monitoring and management skills
- Understanding of child development and the needs of young people
- Ability to undertake assessments
