What the Job Involves
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will maintain public open spaces, verges, schools, and contracted sites to ensure a quality green environment. Your responsibilities will include grass cutting, maintaining horticultural features, undertaking landscaping tasks, and removing litter. You will also assist with grave digging and cemetery tasks, carry out arboricultural work, and respond to fly-tipping. The role involves ensuring safety inspections on vehicles, maintaining machinery, and complying with health and safety legislation. Additionally, you will occasionally partake in emergency response activities, such as flooding or storms, and work outside normal hours if needed.
