You are a committed and collaborative individual dedicated to working with partners to support children in Sefton, helping them thrive and remain safe. What the job involves
You will be part of Sefton’s Youth Justice Service, responsible for collaborating with other services to prevent children from entering the criminal justice system. In cases where they do, you will aim to facilitate learning, positive change, and a promising future. Your responsibilities will include safeguarding, promoting welfare, and managing risk and vulnerability while ensuring public protection and upholding the Council's reputation. You may supervise student placements and report to Operational Youth Justice Manager(s).
Skills
- Professional qualification in Social Work or Diploma in Probation Studies
- Relevant youth/criminal justice degree qualification
- Experience in assessing and analyzing needs
- Ability to devise intervention plans and support packages
- Knowledge of youth justice and safeguarding legislation and practice
- Experience working collaboratively with agencies
- Engagement with hard-to-reach children and families
