Job Title: Building Safety Manager
Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with a strong working knowledge of essential building safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You have a minimum of three years' experience in fire and building safety and are adept at developing and managing Building Safety Case Reports. You are confident in engaging with residents and stakeholders and supporting operational teams. You hold (or are working towards) a CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management, complemented by ongoing professional development and eligibility for relevant professional memberships.
What the Job Involves
As a Building Safety Manager, you will ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, maintaining and monitoring Building Safety Cases and Reports, and coordinating resident engagement on safety matters. You will lead the operational management of building safety for high-risk residential buildings within the council’s housing stock. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance with statutory regulations, coordinating building inspections and assessments, facilitating resident engagement, and mentoring staff. You'll act as a key liaison with the Building Safety Regulator, ensuring effective safety management systems are in place and continuously improved.
