Who You Are
We are looking for self-starters who are proactive, highly motivated, and results-focused. You should have strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a passion for environmental issues and behaviour change. The role requires confidence in engaging with residents and communities and a commitment to high-profile service delivery. While primarily field-based, some office work, including tasks involving Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, will be required.
What the Job Involves
The role is a key part of the Food Waste Collection Project, aiming for a successful rollout by the end of 2026. As a Recycling Officer, you'll be the public face of the service, working with residents through door-to-door engagements, public events, community outreach, and educational initiatives in schools. You'll gather participation data, resolve on-ground issues, and ensure residents understand the benefits of food waste recycling. Your responsibilities will also involve supervising volunteers and staff at events, undertaking enforcement actions, and ensuring Health and Safety standards are met.
