What the job involves
The Family Help Practitioner role involves conducting holistic assessments of families to offer coordinated support packages, whether on a single or multi-agency basis, for children and families not requiring statutory child protection support. You will empower families to overcome challenging behaviors, improve relationships, boost educational engagement, and reduce exclusions. This includes working in partnership with families, completing assessments, applying family networking techniques, and engaging directly with children to incorporate their perspectives into family plans. You will coordinate services within the Team Around the Family (TAF) and collaborate with other professionals to deliver actions within family plans. The role requires identifying and securing appropriate services and working alongside colleagues in various specialized focus areas.
