Who You Are
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join Islington's Disabled Children’s Team. As a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration, you have experience working within statutory children’s services. You are confident in managing safeguarding cases and complex family situations, with a robust knowledge of SEND, disability, and the impact of additional needs on children and families. You possess strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
What the job involves
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist safeguarding service supporting children with disabilities and their families. You will play a key role in assessing needs, developing care plans, and coordinating multi-agency support to improve outcomes for children. The team undertakes Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children Looked After work, alongside screening referrals and supporting families with complex needs. You will hold a varied caseload and are expected to build effective relationships with children and families, complete direct work ensuring the child's voice is central, work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, contribute to safeguarding processes, produce clear and analytical reports, and participate in the duty rota.
