Please note this is a fixed term contract opportunity for a period of 12 months. The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Youth and Community Worker for our Youth Work in Hospitals Project. The successful candidate in this position will play a key role in leading and developing our youth work offer in hospital model in Basildon university hospital across multiple departments and wards whilst also developing and mapping the possible future role out across Southend hospital and Broomfield hospital accident and emergency departments. The Hospital project supports young people aged 13-19yrs (up to 25yrs SEND), who present at the A&E department. The role requires the successful candidate to lead a team of District Youth and Community workers and Team leaders to provide impartial advice and guidance for the young person to progress and develop effectively, as well as engage/re-engage with services that offer holistic support. You will also be required to support young people to fulfil their potential and access universal services through managing a caseload of young people whilst engaging them in mentoring and reintegration work. You will support the district youth worker to provide information and support, work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, and help others to develop high quality youth work provisions. You will be a creative thinker with a strong focus on improving outcomes. Experience and knowledge of developing new projects and leading a team is essential. You will be both proactive and responsive, combining energy and enthusiasm with the tenacity and drive to see things through.
